End of Season Wrap -Up Coming Shortly!!
Meet Sign-Out Procedures The roster for all Saturday A meets will be determined by Coach Jonathan, and will be based on swimmers' best times at that point in the season. It is imperative that we know if a swimmer cannot be at a meet, so that we can enter the next fastest swimmer. We are only allowed to make a few substitutions on the day of a meet, so we want to be sure we fill all lanes with swimmers who are available. We ask everyone, therefore, to let us know the availability of your Kingfish. We ask that you sign them out of any A meet in which they will not be available to swim. A Sign-Out book is also located in the family file folders. The roster for B Meets is done differently. We will be posting those guidelines soon. Essentially, swimmers will sign-up for the events they are eligible to swim in for that meet. We are working very hard to have online sign ups and will let you know when they are available.
How to become a Kingfish: Head Coach Jonathan Taylor is very excited about our the record number of swimmers who have signed up thus far, but there is room for more to come enjoy the fun! The first step to be taken is to have a valid 2009 facilities (pool) pass. All Kingfish must have a valid facilities pass to register for the team. The cost to join the Kingfish is $150 per swimmer, plus a $20 per family concession fee. Each swimmer will receive a Kingfish swim cap and team lanyard. We also require that each family participate in the Kingfish volunteer program. If you are interested in joining, just come to the pool and speak with one of the coaches on deck, or one of the parent representatives who are often on deck. You can also call any of us for more details (see contact page). Email Dottie Freeman at c_dfreeman@hotmail.com for additional information. Swimming Skills Safety is our number top priority, so basic swimming skills are required to join the swim team or the pre team. To become a Kingfish swim team member, a swimmer must demonstrate the ability to swim across the lap pool without stopping, using any swim stroke. In order to join the pre team, our younger swimmers need to be able to be self sufficient in the water, be able to get in and out of the pool with supervision and swim ¾ of the way across the lap pool.
